On the 21st of February Perfume Genius will release his sophomore album. His debut, Learning, was well received when it came out in 2010, and now he’s coming back with a release on Matador. The LP will contain twelve tracks, and it will be called Put Your Back N 2 It. That’s for all the street peeps listening to Perfume Genius, y’all.
Put your back in to it, the little boy said to the bigger boy, Maybe that way you can budge it. The two, and their sister, had been looking at that hideous thing on the attic for a while. Their ball had rolled behind it, and they couldn’t reach it. But the wardrobe looked heavy, if ancient. You’d think that work?, said the older boy. Uh-huh, nodded the girl, who secretly thought No, but you can try anyway and I can just keep on standing here without breaking into a sweat. Please do, the little boy begged, and so the bigger boy walked up to the closet, and turned his body so that he would try and budge it with his back. He put his weight into it, the wardrobe was so ancient that the sides were rotten, the boy fell into it, and that basically is how Narnia was discovered. Sure, they patched the wardrobe up for the movie for there’s not much magical about entering a wardrobe through the rotten side, but you should never put much stock in movies anyway. They always try and make it prettier, you know.
