The pop outfit The Drums is going to release a new album on the 12th of September. This will be done through Moshi Moshi, and the album will be called Portamento. ‘Money’ will be the first single off of it, and it is one of twelve tracks on the album including ‘Book of Revelation’ and ‘Searching for Heaven’.
Searching for heaven was a popular pastime among the social elite in the Twenties. Leopold Demister thought he had found it east of New Jersey and told Fitzgerald his findings, who wrote a book about it before he started having doubts. Not wanting to throw away ninety percent of a perfectly fine novel, but not wanting to succumb to an ending he didn’t believe in, he finally resorted to a convoluted car crash to assure a non-happy ending.
Finally one search party found heaven, but Wittgenstein said, Wait, is this Heaven? What do we constitute as heaven? Do we see it as our final resting place, a place of perfect peace and quiet and happiness, in which case where is the buffet as personally I wouldn’t miss cooking when I die. Also, why are there motor races and teenagers binge drinking. For then we have to ask, what is the difference between this and Brooklyn, and should we then define binge drinking and motor races equals heaven equals Harlem thus Harlem is Heaven? God, baffled by the sudden presence of Wittgenstein and company, bashfully explained that, for in heaven nothing ever happens, people started inventing ways to occupy themselves. Kids, eh, God added with an embarressed laugh.
