New Martyn album in October

Dutchman Martyn has announced the release of his second album. It will come out in the month of October and will be named Ghost People. The release is in the hands of the Brainfeeder label. To get a sample of how the album will sound one can dig into the single ‘Masks/Viper’, which will get a vinyl release on the 5th of September.

Ghost People became a news item when the government decided that, if experience indeed leads to making the right decisions, when we gather all the dead people, then surely for every question we have an expert who has been there and done that. For, if the experience of all the world makes for the best knowledge and advice, you can better keep all the ghosts here on earth in the capacity of a think tank.

An ingenious plan, they thought. First they started with a group of five, but more and more people became deceased and soon the government had to confiscate an apartment building on the corner of 21st and Main to move the project to. Quickly reports started to surface concerning the squalid circumstances they had to live in, with sometimes as many as twelve ghosts in one apartment. Sure, they had a great view on the Thanksgiving Parade, but did that really warrant a rent of 300 per head(less)? It is said that some ghosts even had to come out of retirement because the government funding didn’t cut the costs and they had to take on such lowly jobs as hot dog vendors, that despite everyone knowing that mustard especially stings when in contact with ghostly molecules.

The government found the knowledge that the think tank was generating not yet sufficient though, and they even thought about speeding up the process of adding people to the list of those who are deceased, but when a humanitarian protest against this led to a struggle with the police force the government decided to abandon the project in its entirety and put the budget into flower arranging courses.
