Crazy Zany Radio Sunday - 'Thinking of You' by Frank Ocean

Every week our contributors will voice their opinion concerning one song, it’s a simple as that! The more the merrier, so people are always welcome to join in, just leave a note, eh.

Track of the week: ‘Thinking of You’ by Frank Ocean (listen here)
Average grade: 2.5

Linda: There are a limited number of male vocalists who can pull singing this high without sounding like they've taken skinny jeans one step too far (Jarvis Cocker singing 'Happy Birthday' Bee Gees-style being one of those exceptions). You won't find Frank Ocean on that list, as opposed to the OFWGKTA list and the list of people who have written songs for Justin Bieber (thank you Wikipedia for bringing up this hilarious combination of facts).
3/10

Anna: This sure sounds old for a new song. Box-standard R&B, box-standard falsetto, box-standard emotions; this does absolutely nothing for me.
Grade:  2

Ilse: In collaboration with Tyler, the Creator/OFWGKTA, Frank Ocean is alright, but somehow on his own I find his music rather dull. Could also be that it's just this track specifically.
 4.0

Stef: I actually do hope everyone is going to give this a failing grade, because I don’t think that this is the kind of music we discuss here normally, and I think this track immediately makes clear why. As far as I’m concerned this is half-baked soft R&B that doesn’t excel in any way. I would take any soul/disco/Motown track out of the Seventies any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
