The Juan MacLean to release digital album of old cuts

On the 8th of November The Juan MacLean will release a digital album with previously made work. The album will contain eleven tracks, including the tune ‘Feel So Good’ which was released on a mix last year. But also with some remixes on there (a Cut Copy one, par example), and some other “older” work which hasn’t seen a real proper release (or is on there for another reason). The album will be called Everybody Get Close, and the title track is floating out there for listening.

Dmitri Shubokov, in his article Mankind and why we are such egotistical bastards but still in need of friends and family, came up with a theory why digital friends have so easily replaced “real life” ones. And, according to Shubokov, this is because we just love to talk about ourselves so darn much, and it doesn’t matter one bit how this is done. One of the main functions friends perform, according to this theory, is that it allows you to talk about yourself, and whether you do this per text or vocally, who cares. Actually, text might be preferred, because this allows both persons to talk about themselves simultaneously without one of them feeling they are interjecting the other one and thus don’t feel the need to at one point say, Now, let’s talk about ME!
