New Los Campesinos! album coming in November

On the 14th of November Los Campesinos! will release a new album. The album is titled Hello Sadness, and it will be released by Wichita/Arts & Crafts. The album will have ten tracks on it, and it is produced by John Goodmanson, who has also been responsible for the last few albums. As they are heading towards that release they are going to say goodbye to Harriet. The violinist will leave the band later this month.

At one point it was quite fashionable in sciences to say, Indeed, sadness can be avoided by applying a different way of thinking. By clearing out your head, thus being able to focus on the major issues in your life. And even if they are the cause for the problems, this will allow you to effectively deal with them as you are focussed. However, Gene Riskowitz thought, why not do the opposite> Instead of trying to keep sadness out, why not cordially invite it in? Say, Hello sadness, come in, tea? For if you invite it in, treat it with calmness and respect, then maybe it gets assimilated in your being, and you can find a place for sadness and thus deal with it better.

So this is what Gene did, though little did he know that Sadness would not only come in, have tea, but would also eat the last piece of pizza in the fridge, rearrange the furniture, and sell Gene’s antique and inherited chess set in favour of a run down copy of Trivial Pursuit. Moreover, he refused to cook, and Gene as perfect host was forced to cut working hours in order to provide his guest with the cordiality you should provide a visitor.  When Sadness, upon frowning upon the delicately seasoned Pasta Gene put in front of him, requested a roasted lamb with rosemary instead Gene snapped. He went out, bought the lamb, trained the lamb to bite Sadness, the lamb did so, Sadness left angrily, and then the lamb was cooked to perfection and Gene ate it all up in a glorious victory meal.
