Het nieuwe album van Former Ghosts, de artiestennaam van Freddy Ruppert, zal New Love heten. Het album volgt het vorig jaar uitgekomen Fleurs op, en zal dit doen op 4 oktober via het Upset the Rhythm label. Nika Roza Danilova en Jamie Stewart (de minds achter Zola Jesus en Xiu Xiu respectively) zullen op het album te horen zijn, en de drie bands zullen ook een tour samen doen die onder andere leidt naar Paradiso. Het album zal dertien tracks kennen, waarvan de titel track de afsluiter zal zijn.Eén van de andere tracks heet ‘I Am Not What You Want’, een bekende film phrase natuurlijk. “I am not the woman you want, please, you have to forget me and find someone that really loves you” of “I am not the man you think I am, now, if we stay together, it may go right for a month, it may go right for a year. But honey, my past will catch up with me, and that’s something I can’t put you through”. En dat is alleen nog maar het romantische genre, wat te denken van de cop flick? “N-n-now, I am not the one you want now. You see, sure, sure I stole his wallet, but I didn’t murder him. I saw his body, I took the loot, he was already dead by then. I’m a petty thief, I wouldn’t kill someone for what he has on him.” Ah, I just love making things sound corny.
