Every week our contributors will voice their opinion concerning one song, it’s a simple as that! The more the merrier, so people are always welcome to join in, just leave a note, eh.
Track of the week: ‘T.O.R.N.A.D.O.’ by The Go! Team (listen here)
Average grade:5.5
Anna: This is a delicious fusion of hip hop, rock, and electronics. They have weaved everything together masterfully with a production that is simply impeccable, and the end result oozes personality. You get the feeling that you must simultaneously dance and run away from an impending threat.
7.5/10
Linda: As Storm Chasers is my favourite show on the Discovery Channel (there's nothing like an F5) and ninja's bring the joys of watching Powers Rangers to mind, this ought to be a golden combination. However, just as the ninja's always lost in the end and most of the tornadoes on DC never even touch the ground, this track just lacks in strength. Nice to see that ninja's can spell though.
F1/F5 (as tornadoes ought to be rated on the Fujita scale)
Ilse: I have no clue what the Go! Team used to sound like before, but this track certainly has the likes of children tripping because they've had too much lemonade and out-of-control Duracell rabbits. In short; I think everyone should D.A.N.C.E. to this. Especially if you have a thing for the Beastie Boys.
6.4/10
Stef: You know, I like it, but I think this is something you want to experience live with the energy, and not sitting at home going la-di-da I have to pack my suitcase for work tomorrow. Then again, the last part, you don’t want that ever. But, you get my gist, the energy of a live show would probably suit this well.
6/10
